504 Information I am the 504 Coordinator and below are my responsibilities:
Manage all 504 plans
Coordinate review meetings
New referral meetings
Re-assessment and exit plans
To be protected under Section 504, a student must be determined to: (1) have a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities (2) have a record of such an impairment (3) be regarded as having such an impairment.
For 504 Plans I will be reaching out to parents to review each 504 plan and communicate with the parent(s). When reviewing each plan. I will be considering at least two things 1. Can the plan as written be implemented virtually and/or 2. Does the student need any more or less support than what is on the current plan? If so a written contingency statement will be added. The reason for the contingency statement is that it is activated just for when the student is in the remote learning setting. 504 meeting will be conducted virtually/ over the phone as needed. If a teacher or parent has a concern about the needs of the student while on virtual learning, then the team will want to meet virtually and write a contingency statement with the parent.
